Services and Facilities

 Classrooms
AIFE students study in spacious, modern classrooms all of which are equipped with computers, projection screen and whiteboards. In addition, there are four dedicated computer labs for classes with high-speed internet access. These facilities are available for theory class held at the Ashfield campus. For further details about the kitchen classes, please click here.

 Computer Labs
Each computer lab is equipped with 30 computers and is available from Monday to Saturday 7:00am to 10:00 pm. As these labs are regularly reserved for classroom use, AIFE cannot guarantee access to computer labs at all times.

Additional computers are available for use by students in both the student common room and library.

 Common Room
AIFE offers a spacious student common room which is equipped with a kitchen area, including microwaves, filtered water, dining tables and chairs and vending machines, as well as an extra computer terminal and photocopier.

 Library Services
The AIFE library is stocked with over 300 books as well as magazine subscriptions including Rotman and Harvard Business Review. The library is open Monday to Saturday between 7:00am to 10:00pm and utilizes a self service borrowing/return system. The library also has seven iMac computers which are available for student use.

 Student Services
At AIFE, our approach is intensively client-focused. From the start, our Student Services Team provides an in-depth and interactive orientation program, which covers a variety of topics related to both studying at AIFE and about life in Australia. Our administrative and management staff is fully committed to facilitating each student’s academic requirements and to making life in Sydney an enjoyable and rewarding experience.

Academic personnel are available to provide you with academic counseling and assistance if you are having problems with your studies at any stage. Our Compliance Officers are also available and can provide private counseling sessions and referral services if ever you need assistance in resolving personal issues. Additionally, we have on staff a full-time Language, Literacy and Numeracy expert who can provide you with any help you might need in terms of English or general applied mathematics. Email addresses of key staff members are published online and in notices on campus so that students can easily find help when they need it. Students can also book appointments for counseling sessions with a Compliance Officer or our LLN Program Coordinator by using the Online Appointment Scheduler.

Students who have questions or any other issues in relation to their studies are welcome to visit the Student Services Centre, located on the ground floor of Ashfield Campus. All academic and administrative forms are available here and can also be downloaded from our website. Responses will be provided as soon as possible, by the first point of contact. Student Service Officers are available to assist in booking appointments with Compliance Officers or other staff members. One of our staff members will always be able to assist you with more complicated issues such as study plans, student visa conditions and attendance.

The Student Service Centre is open from Monday to Friday, 10am to 6pm.

LLN/English support is available Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm.

 IT Help Desk
Our experienced IT team is available to offer our students an on-campus and online IT help-desk service 6 days a week. The Office of IT Services is responsible for planning, developing and operating AIFE's central information and communications infrastructure. Today, IT is no longer confined simply to the computer room. In a modern organisation like AIFE, it is everywhere in the workplace. Our IT approach at AIFE is to develop new services to assist staff and students in using IT more effectively through better planning, education and assistance of end-users.

 Assessment Helpdesk Support
AIFE have created a dedicated service to assist students in resolving assessment queries prior to submission. The Assessment helpdesk will answer queries regarding assessment tasks which you consider unfair or not achievable; assessment tasks that you do not understand or are not clear upon; and your personal feedback on the assessments undertaken. Emails can be sent to assessmenthelpdesk@aife.edu.au or consult your Trainer or AIFE staff member for further details.

 Industry Consultation
The workforce development needs within industry is of the utmost importance to our institute, and has always been a top priority in terms of course development and implementation. AIFE actively pursues opportunities to meet with industry groups, including enterprises, state/territory training authorities, and unions for a better understanding of their training needs.

Industry consultation assists our college in ensuring AIFE assessments and delivery of courses are current, contextualized and valid. Based upon the feedback of industry consultation, AIFE updates and implements changes to our courses regularly, such as our Learning and Development Strategies, to guarantee that AIFE is teaching employable skills which are aligned with industry requirements. This is crucial to AIFE’s delivery of education as performance criteria and learning outcomes will determine whether students have the relevant competencies.

Such on-going improvement of our education services in conjunction with organisations within the industry equips our students upon graduation with the capability of entering the industry and obtaining employment within the industry.

Nounou Sritoh - Friday, January 09, 2009
AIFE is very pleased to announce that one of our students has been offered a position of a Front Desk Coordinator with Unilodge Sydney. Unilodge is a budget hotel with over 600 studio apartments located in Broadway with branches all over Australia.
The above role was open for all public candidates. Even through our student doesn’t have Australia work experience; he was chosen finally to overtake this job.
This achievement would thank for the assistance of AIFE Job placement Officer who promoted this particular job opportunity among AIFE students and provide assistance to them.
