The Great Australian Bite 2009
11-May-2009
We would like to thank everyone who took part in The Great Australian Bite 2009. There was a great turnout to the charity luncheon by both administrative staff and trainers, with fabulous food being catered by some of our own students and organized by the HR team. Overall, AIFE generated more than $1,200 in donations through the Great Australian Bite Luncheon and raffle competition. This amazing result is thanks to the generous support of staff, trainers and students to assist in the fight against diabetes. All funds raised will go directly to Diabetes Australia – NSW, to finance diabetes awareness, research, education and advocacy programs.
Thanks also to everyone who participated in the raffle competition. The total numbers of straws in the box was 248. The winners of the competition are as follows:
- First Prize went to Ms. Shannon Marsh (Compliance Administration Officer), who won a kettle and 20 slurpee vouchers donated from 7-Eleven;
- Second prize went to Mr. Sam Beylouni (Hospitality Trainer), who won a toaster and 5 7-Eleven slurpee vouchers;
- Third Prize went to Mr. Kevin Song (Compliance and Quality Assurance Team Leader), who won shot glasses and 5 Seven-Eleven slurpee vouchers.
Five students whose estimates were closest to the correct number were also awarded with a Seven-Eleven slurpee voucher each.
Finally, we would like to pay special thanks to Mr. Bajwa and Mr. Banga, our CEO and Assistant CEO for hosting this charity event and for the single largest donation, made on behalf of AIFE.
